The PADI IE is a standard element that will objectively assess and evaluate a candidate. The evaluation will be conducted by Instructor Examiners from the PADI Asia-Pacific Headquarters. We will train and teach you everything you need to know in order to successfully pass the IE.

During the IE you will repeat everything you have during the IDC.

After completion of the IDC or OWSI, you must successfully complete the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

You will be evaluated on: dive theory, knowledge development presentations, confined-water (pool) teaching, open-water teaching and general diving skills and professionalism.

The PADI IE in Phuket is held over a weekend (times are approx.)

Friday

17.00 - Orientation

18.00 - Dive Theory Exams (90 minutes)

5-part theory exam on Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills and the environment and the PADI Recreational Dive Planner, comprising of multiple-choice, True False Questions, there are 12 questions on each topic.

Saturday

08.00 - Confined Water Presentations and Skills circuit

Confined water presentation for a skill assigned by the examiners at the orientations and 5 skills as pre assigned.

11.00 - Lunch Break (2 hours)

12.30 - Standards and Procedures Exam (90 minutes)

Open Book Exam on PADI Standards and Procedures, comprising of 50 multiple-choice questions.

14.30 - Knowledge Development Presentations

Prescriptive Teaching Presentation on a topic assigned by the examiners at the orientation.

16.30 - Finish

Sunday

08.00 - Open Water Presentations

Open Water presentation with 2 skills combined assigned by the examiners at the orientation from the either the shore or a boat at local Phuket Dive sites.

13.00 – Presentations

Certificates presented by the Examiners – Congratulations you are now a PADI Instructor!
