PADI Platinum Course Director, EFR Instructor Trainer, DDI Instructor Trainer, Reef Check Instructor
I started diving in the mid nineties in Beautiful English waters. After organizing several trips from England to the Red Sea and fun diving in the Caribbean Islands, Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Mexico, Indonesia and the Philippines, I decided to take a chance, leave my job and turn my hobby into a career.
Previously I was a Senior Manager with HSBC then after several trips to the Similan Island's with Scuba Cat Diving, I completed my PADI IDC in 2004 got rid of my life and became a full time PADI Instructor in Phuket. I worked as a videographer, also teaching all the PADI Courses and Customer Services in the Beach Road Shop.
In 2007, I became the owner of Scuba Cat, which at the time was a 5 * IDC however after only a couple of months we were awarded the prestigious 5 * CDC Centre. Scuba cat Diving was a PADI 5 * CDC Centre until I sold it in June 2015.
As well as being the only active Female PADI Gold Course Director in Phuket I am the only DDI Instructor Trainer in Asia.
PADI IDC Staff Instructor, EFR Instructor, Reef Check Instructor
I am originally from Grimsby in the UK , I started diving as a child and secretly had an ambition to become a Diving Instructor abroad (far more appealing than diving in the North Sea).
This became a reality in 2004 when I completed the DM and IDC courses at Scuba Cat. Initially, I was the DM on Scuba Adventure and in 2005 became the Shop Manager, a role she was in for 4 years.
In 2009 the opportunity to become Tour Leader of Scuba Adventure became available. I was desperate to get wet again and took it without hesitation.
I really enjoy taking certified divers on Safaris and showing them the sub marine wonders of the Andaman Sea. One of my personal highlights was seeing a whale shark on a trip to Richelieu Rock.
I had waited 38 years for that moment and am not proud to say that I cried underwater. Little did I know I would see one more a few days later - and am now seeing them all the time.
One of my other passions is marine conservation. After becoming a Reef Check Instructor I have conducted courses at Scuba Cat and organise Underwater and beach clean-ups locally to Phuket. I love teaching PADI courses and enhancing certified divers potential.
There is a standing joke that I will still be throwing myself off the dive deck when I am on my zimmer frame!
Unfortunately I am back in the UK at the moment awaiting an operation on my knees, as soon as the opportuntity arises I will be back to join Scubacat-idc and Sarah Kench where ever in the world they might be.
