Following the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course we expect you to be able to teach all of the core PADI Instructor courses.

However, we don't want you to stop there – you can show real dedication to your diving qualifications by continuing your education, and branching out.

By taking more courses you will allow yourself more opportunity when you embark on searching for employment in the industry.

You will be more marketable because of those additional skills, and the varied teaching that you will be able to perform will mean your job is much more varied and interesting.

If completing the Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor course or Emergency Oxygen Provider you will be required to have completed the student level first.

Course prerequisites

To enrol in a PADI Specialty Instructor training course, an individual must either be:

  • A renewed PADI Assistant Instructor.
  • A renewed PADI instructor.
  • Or have completed an IDC within the past 12 months.
  • Have Medical clearance, to show dive fitness signed by a physician, within the previous 12 months.

What will you do on the Course?

Specialty Instructor courses all cover the necessary PADI learning levels and more.

You will gain valuable hands on experience and will get involved in marketing, good methods of teaching, learning about the PADI standards and more.

The courses will help you gain an understanding of how important your diver training is, and how to combine particular specialties when you continue your education and take part in future courses.

You can also participate in our MSDT Prep program. You will do 5 Specialty Instructor ratings with us and soon be ready to apply for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, the next level of Instructor rating from PADI.
